As part of its commitment to children and the local community, McDonald's of Northern Indiana has been partnering each year with a local TV station to collect backpacks and other school supplies for children in need. Supplies are collected in the local restaurants leading up to the drive's main event during the station's Saturday morning newscast. The local St. Vincent de Paul Society then distributes the supplies to needy families in the area.
