Read the latest about Sheila Witous, Chief Administrative Officer of Radiology, Inc., from her recent catch-up with Diane Doyne, Villing+Company Vice President of Client Services.

Radiology, Inc.

Q: What’s the first thing you do every day when you wake up?

Well, we have a new puppy in the house, so the first thing I do is get the dog out the door! But really, I thank God for the blessing of another day. And Mike (my husband) and I sit down together and do daily readings and reflections, which we feel is a great foundation to start our days from.

Q. Who is the most important person you talk to every day?

From a faith perspective, that would be God, but after God, that would be my husband. Both Mike and my faith in God keep me on the right track. My husband is also a business professional, so he’s a great sounding board for me—and a great source of laughter, as he’s a funny guy!

Q. What new tools or activities have you recently discovered that you can’t live without?

That has to be my Sonos and Spotify music combination—it’s the best. I have the most awesome playlist. And as much as I gripe about Netflix bills, I never gripe about our Spotify bill!

Q. 2020 was a tough year for many, personally and/or professionally. Looking back, what lessons would you say you learned?

For me, COVID was incredibly challenging, but there were also some wonderful things that came of it. Our youngest son came home from college, spending a lot of time with us. That was valuable time that we never would have had with him otherwise. We got to know him on a deeper level, which we are grateful for. I think the COVID situation made everyone sit back, reassess life and be grateful for the blessings that are found in life.

Q. What kinds of things do you do in your spare time?

Now that my kids are grown and out of the house, I do more volunteer work: I’m on a gardening committee at my church and I’m on the board of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana. I also run, play tennis, and do Crossfit with Mike. I don’t fish as much as I’d like to, but I love fishing and some of the best times I’ve spent have been sitting on the deck with my husband and not even saying a word—just enjoying the beauty that’s in front of us and sitting together, enjoying life. I love the nature we see living on a lake. There’s so much beauty and serenity right in front of us, and we try to take the time to soak it in and enjoy it.

Q. Tell me about Radiology, Inc.

We’re firm believers in supporting our hospital partners. One of the most important things we do is to support their growth efforts; we want to give them everything they need and be fully committed to making sure they are successful. That’s one of the most important things we do, because in the end, it’s good for the community.

Q. What makes you hopeful about the future?

My faith is always something that keeps my hope alive, but my children make me incredibly hopeful. I’m blessed with four children, three in-laws and four grandchildren. They are all truly good people. It’s beautiful watching your kids grow up into people you can be really proud of. They’ve had to face some difficult things in their lives, and they faced those difficulties with grace and a positive attitude. I see others who have wonderful children, too, and that gives me hope because I think strong families are critical to curing some of our societal issues. A strong family structure is very important and seeing that positive cycle continue gives me hope. As long as you love your kids, your kids are going to do well.
