I'm Thankful for Ronald McDonald House Charities
Since the local chapter of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) was founded in 1999, Villing & Company has been honored to provide marketing services for this wonderful organization. Given this relationship, I had a pretty good idea of what RMHC does: provide a home-away-from home for families of seriously ill or injured children. In South Bend, the Ronald McDonald Family Room is located in Memorial Hospital. In other communities, they may have a separate facility – a Ronald McDonald House located right across the street from the hospital.
Over the past year, I've personally been able to gain a better understanding of just how important the work of this charity is. In November 2012, my cousin and his family moved into the Ronald McDonald House at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis while their two-year-old son, Caleb, waited for a heart transplant. The following video they produced does a much better job than I could in telling the rest of the story.
It's one thing to know what an organization does, but it's another thing entirely when those services directly impact someone you know.
So, to the staff, volunteers and everyone who has donated to RMHC:
Thank you.
